Bruce Degn

principal & FOUNDER

Bruce Degn is a Washington, DC-based industry association veteran, with over 20 years of association and advocacy experience. Before founding the Industry Affairs Council, Bruce was the Managing Director for the Global Blockchain Business Council; Executive Director for the Association for Healthcare Foodservice; and held executive positions at the Telecommunication Industry Association, US Chamber of Commerce, and United States Telecom Association. Bruce has served as a congressional speech writer and has given presentation workshops across Europe.

Bruce is a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), has a degrees from Brigham Young University and USC’s Marshall School of Business.

 
 
 
 
 

Dr. John Abel

Principal

John Abel is an experienced industry association professional and successful entrepreneur. John served as Senior Vice President at the United States Telecom Association; Executive Vice President at the National Association of Broadcasters; and has consulted for multiple Washington, DC-based associations over his 30 year career.

John holds an MA and PhD from Indiana University, Bloomington, where he taught courses in mass communications and telecommunications.

Kenton Hamaker, III

vice president, accounts

Kent is a Washington, DC area native, with over 25 years of non-profit experience. He served in both Presbyterian and Episcopal churches as both Education and Youth Director; and as Director of Communication, Education, and Benchmarking for the Association for Healthcare Foodservice. Kent has extensive experience in forming, training, and growing teams, teaching, editing, PR, and public speaking.

Kent is a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and holds a Liberal Arts degree with a concentration in Communications from Virginia Tech.
